As a Field Sales Manager you are the link between our new customers and GEODIS. In this role you work on a daily basis to manage, realize and develop the Freight Forwarding business activities of new customers within the strategy of the Marketing and Business Plan. Your day-to-day activities will primarily consist out of following-up on new business leads, developing opportunities, visiting prospects and customers within a geographical region within the Netherlands. Being a specialist on the GEODIS product portfolio you will be developing our various products and services over a variety of vertical markets.


Manage new business and increase the share of wallet through cross and up selling, but also by applying new projects, so that objectives are realized within the framework conditions and are implemented efficiently and efficiently.

  • Identifying and monitoring customer issues;
  • Tailoring the customer's wishes to the established products and developing a complete solution in collaboration with the support departments;
  • Informing and providing information to your customers about developments in the market and specifically about the products and the innovative power of our organization;
  • Manages and coordinates our own customer portfolio in accordance with the applicable guidelines and using our CRM system (Sales Force);
  • Overall responsible for the contacts with customers and aligns the various sub-activities within projects;
  • Maintains contact with internal stakeholders on business opportunities in such a way that objectives are achieved;
  • Independently providing quotations and drawing up contracts; Independently executing and answering tenders; ensure a uniform appearance of all processes and tenders

Vereisten

  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in a commercial freight forwarding environment in a commercial account management role.
  • A bachelor degree relevant to logistics or international business management;
  • Have a basic understanding of corporate financials (costs, loss, profit, buy-ins);
  • Excellent language skills in both Dutch & English and good intercultural relationship skills;
  • An insatiable appetite to learn so you are up-to-date with the branch and latest trends; flexibility to be reachable for escalations outside working hours and willingness to back up your colleagues during absence or peaks;
  • You are a service-minded listener and convincing communicator, ready to be challenged by demanding high-profile clients and fulfil their logistical needs!
  • You are well experienced in handling a client portfolio whilst developing new business with hot prospects.
