Purpose of the job: 

In Geodis, a Key Account Manager (KAM) is an experienced sales person that has a clear understanding of all aspects of the freight forwarding business. Furthermore, the KAM will recognize new business opportunities with existing accounts and be a trusted advisor to our customers regarding their freight forwarding needs.

The aim is to ensure productive and efficient sales activities around these large accounts according to the Global Sales Process (GSP) and as decided by the National Sales Director FF. 

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their business needs and ensuring satisfaction with the company’s products or services.

Strategic Planning:

Develop and implement strategic account plans that align with the client’s goals and the company’s objectives, identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to deliver value-added services and solutions to key accounts.

Sales Growth:

Drive sales growth by identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities within key accounts, negotiating contracts, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Performance Monitoring:

Conduct regular meetings (QBR’s) with key accounts to review performance, address concerns, and identify opportunities for collaboration.

Market Insights: Monitor market trends and competitive activities related to key accounts, adjusting strategies accordingly.

Vereisten

Technical skills:

·         Higher vocational education (HBO)

·         3 – 5 years’ experience in a commercial role in freight forwarding

·         Excellent negotiation, questioning & presentation skills

·         Good sales technique, concept sales, customer psychology and purchasing patterns

·         Knowledge of customs, export/import processes and industry regulations

·         Profound competence in airfreight, ocean freight as well as import and export

·         Fluent in local language and profound English skills

·         Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) prior to the start of the employment which needs to be renewed every two years

Functional skills:

·         In depth user of IT packages used in the logistics industry

·         Excellent user of MS Office software

·         Consistently strives to do better, to experience new challenges and opportunities

·         Works easily with a variety of people
