Are you our new Lead Solution Design Engineer?

At GEODIS CL Netherlands B.V., a global leader in contract logistics, we are seeking an experienced Lead Solution Design Engineer. You will be responsible for leading the Solution Design team in the Netherlands and play a crucial role in designing tailored logistics solutions for our clients. You will collaborate with your team on projects ranging from contract extensions to redesigning logistics processes.


What Will You Do?

  • Team Leadership and Coaching:

    • Oversee all activities of the Solution Design team and ensure comprehensive reports to management.

    • Guide your team in developing design options and validate these to meet quality standards and client requirements.

    • Create an optimal work environment and promote team motivation by organizing regular team meetings.

    • Conduct selection and onboarding processes for new employees and support their professional growth through personal coaching and external training programs.

  • Structuring and Relationships:

    • Continuously develop and improve the GEODIS solution design methodology by standardizing work methods and outputs.

    • Ensure effective coordination with other departments and streamline project and commercial tasks related to Business Development and Key Account Management.

    • Promote knowledge transfer within the Solution Design team and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ensuring Quality:

    • Establish processes to ensure quality according to applicable laws, internal procedures, and ISO standards.

    • Translate Business Excellence policy into practical processes and initiate improvement proposals where needed.

    • Prepare for reviews and audits, both internal and external, regarding solution design processes.

  • Executing Engineering Projects:

    • Work independently on Solution Design projects and deliver high-quality logistics solutions that meet client needs.

    • Conduct detailed analyses of client requirements and develop innovative logistics concepts to improve operational efficiency.

    • Ensure project objectives are achieved through effective use of available resources and technologies.

  • Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure all team members act according to the STS-QSE policies of our Group and Division, emphasizing operational excellence.

Vereisten

What Do You Bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working and thinking level.

  • At least 5 years of experience in solution design/logistics engineering and 3 years in team management.

  • Detailed knowledge of logistics processes and integration with transport and customs.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint; experience with Power BI and AutoCAD is a plus.

  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).

  • Strong communication skills in Dutch and English.
